You know you are in drought when you get a cold front passage that will drop the temperatures about 25º and it comes in without a single drop of rain or even a single dark cloud.

This is like the eighth or ninth dry front in the last month.

On the 10 minute drive home from dinner around 7:00, the cooldown was starting. For the first 5 minutes of the drive, my car said 82. By the time I got home, it was 79. As I stepped out, I felt three whole raindrops.

I think those were literally the only raindrops.

I'm going to say that GSP is done with 90 degree days (but there's certainly no guarantee). So this year there were 81 days that reached 90 or higher making it the third highest total on record behind 88 days in 2011 and 84 in 1954. An astounding 27 of those came in Sept and Oct (and 8 in May). A very painful 18 of those days were 95 or higher with 98 being the highest, set yesterday.

First good shower complex we have had in weeks. Since Dorian.

Can't complain too much.

Last two weeks have brought Easterly winds. A few sprinkles and temps steady 88-93.

Hopefully the Gulf opens up this winter.

If not widespread drought for much of the SE till late summer.
