Welcome!  Plattsburgh hasn’t been represented here before. Will be nice to have obs from the other side of the CPV. Seems like it’s colder over there than at BTV.

3.5” as of 8:00 pm. Measured on top of the car and the deck.

Thank you for the warm welcome. Will measure now and get back to you. Always happy to do some OBS. 22 Degrees at the moment.

Event totals: 3.7” Snow/0.75” L.E.

Aside from some interludes with larger flakes, the snowfall from this system has been impressively dense, and the bulk of the snowfall I’ve typically seen has been made up of small, granular flakes.  I thought I heard a few ticks of sleet yesterday in the late evening, but there was nothing obvious in this morning’s core that I used for analysis.  In any case, with the dense, granular flakes the storm has already brought 0.75” of liquid despite only 3.7” of snow accumulation.  It’s actually snowing quite steadily out there this morning, but it’s not obvious at first glance due to the small size of the flakes.

Details from the 6:00 A.M. Waterbury observations:

New Snow: 1.8 inches

New Liquid: 0.41 inches

Snow/Water Ratio: 4.4

Snow Density: 22.8% H2O

Temperature: 20.8 F

Sky:  Snow (1 to 2 mm flakes)

Snow at the stake: 4.0 inches

We had a really thick crust this morning but it was all back to snow by the time I left for work around 6:45.  Glad I was forced to put my winter tires on a few weeks early.  We just bought a new car yesterday and they are going to put winters on before we pick it up and it may be next week before we get it.

30.4F  Light snow.   Good snow growth vis 1.5 miles

Temperatures feel to 32F around 4pm yesterday and have stayed below since.   Light snow began yesterday afternoon and changed to sleet then freezing drizzle in the evening as temperatures fell into the upper 20's.  Overnight light freezing drizzle.  Heavier precip began an hour ago as brief freezing rain then sleet and a change to snow in the past 10 minutes.

Total snow/sleet from the first part of the storm about 1/3".  Now everything is getting a fresh coat.

Well that’s some really dense snow.

About 4.5” that feels like cement.  I see most CoCoRAHS are running like 5-6:1 ratio.  The local guy had 0.78” water.

No fluff here, sleet and some ZR to make it thick, ha.

It's 4" of man snow for sure.  That is an armor coating for the slopes

Quick  2.3"  in about 2-3 hours before it moved out.  Now 21F.  Liquid was .22"

Noticed this new trend last year with the kids school, they always close and never seem to ever do a 2 hour delay anymore.   Same with today when it was pretty well established this would be  quick hitter this morning--still closed.
