Next week is a torch birds should love that

Besides the heat itself what annoys me is our weather personalities rubbing it in. Saying things like, "and it's going to warm back up again"..."Summer keeps hanging on"...."Fall will be put on hold a bit longer". And they say it w/a happy tone to their voice....uggghh. Probably best to tune out TV weather for a couple more weeks till Fall truly kicks in...

It has been pretty dry and uneventful here the last 30 days or so. Eventually the pendulum is going to swing the other way and when it does it will hopefully take us through the rest of the fall and winter months.

Im in for a warmish event free October then November on it can start getting colder as long as no snow till after Thanksgiving then let the games begin.

I actually did get down to Manasquan Inlet, NJ on saturday morning.  I paddled out at 6:10am (30 mins before sunrise) and was greeted with warm water and big hollow barrels.  Swell was variable with the largest sets around 6-8ft @ 13-15 seconds early in the morning with an average swell size closer to 5ft throughout the day.  Really fun surf, hard to position yourself and easy to get caught inside with the variable swell size and direction.  Also some big closeouts due to the long period, but really awesome surf overall.

Getting some pea sized hail and much needed rain here in phoenixville.  Also a lot of lightning striking the ground nearby.

Edit: here's the alert issued right around the time it was hailing here.

:

NORTHEASTERN CHESTER COUNTIES...

At 932 PM EDT, a strong thunderstorm was located over Phoenixville,
or 13 miles north of West Chester, moving east at 20 mph.
Wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea size hail are possible with this
storm.
Locations impacted include...
Norristown, Pottstown, Phoenixville, West Norriton, East Norriton,
Conshohocken, Collegeville, Royersford, Trappe, Valley Forge, Chester
Springs, King Of Prussia, Plymouth Meeting, Radnor Township,
Skippack, Bridgeport, Spring City, North Wales, West Conshohocken and

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm, and may cause

Enjoying the heck out of this mini drought keep it coming

Save for Thursday, which should be fairly light qpf, it looks like you'll get your wish. Ridge builds in for next weekend and beyond. October may be a very dry month. Hope this trend doesn't carry into winter or it could be a boring one.

Brown Marmorated Stinkbugs were everywhere around here today.  Am wondering what tomorrow will be like.

Never could have imagined 20 years ago about having to deal with these abominations of nature. They somehow know to come inside this time of year, even on hot days and warm nights they KNOW cold is coming soon and where to find a winter house retreat. What the frack did they do before houses?

Saw the 2nd one this season (believe it or not) yesterday on my back screen door.

Yesterday had an 81/63 high/low but managed to hit 90 here before noon today (after a 69 low and steamed-up windows).  Didn't expect to hit 90 after missing it the last couple times it was forecast.

Currently 91 and mostly sunny.
