Well June was not warm and neither was August take away the one week when it was hot.that leaves July. I've seen many many worse summers over the years. The real show will come next weekend when Dorian heads east of the Outer Banks and our area is no longer shadowed. There could be major beach erosion and wash overs then. My departure here wound up at -0.2° for the month...Rainfall of 3.98" was slightly below normal (Normal is 4.10")It was only my 2nd below normal precipitation month over the previous 19. I look at summers like 2010 very fondly, I love dry heat, not this humid crap! As per the Trewartha climate system, I am in "Dc - Continental" and LGA is "Oceanic." Northern Queens seems to be hotter in the summer than any other part of the city and even hotter than NE NJ (like the area near the Lincoln Tunnel.) The area from the Midtown Tunnel to the Grand Central is the hottest part of the metro from what I've experienced. When I get down by JFK, the temps are several degrees lower.
