My buddy just sent me a video from jones beach of an apocalyptic sand storm. Said the winds were the strongest he has ever seen. Of course I missed it.

Looks like Long Beach had some strong winds but missed that part of it. Lucky them-most of town would probably be no power. Finally ending here but that was an intense 60 minutes.

Yea. It looked like it was going go be a close call for you.  That secondary small area of 60+mph winds went right over me.  I'm still so excited lol.

15,000 without power on LI

That sucks. Northern blvd was flooded in various parts from Great Neck to Greenvale. Had to drive in left lane to be safe. If you had an suv the right lane would be ok but some spots were 2-3’ deep it appeared.

This was a standout event for me, and I didn't even get the worst of it.  One of those cells came over my head in Piscataway.  Hard to explain the feeling but it was like we were inside the cell, and the lightning was just dropping around us.  There's lightning that's close, and there's that.  Like the feeling if you go outside you are going to die.  Wow.

You got a great video clip. Some nice photos coming in from Long Beach on social media.

I have a station mounted at my brother’s house at Cherry Grove.  It gusted to 26 mph at 8pm.  It’s mounted slightly below the roof line so it does not get the full exposure to the wind.  Based upon how it is set up I would estimate actual winds gusted to 40 mph there at that time.

GFS keeps it coming at us:   13 of the next 16 days are 90 degree days.     6-10 and 8-14 Day Outlooks say it might be right, and not much rain----after present company leaves.

Gonna go out on a limb and say we don't stay dry that long. Even so, many areas will be AN after tomorrow.
