I am blaming the split here on the missing radar frames between 5:15 and 5:44. There was a solid line of red heading towards my yard and then on the next update- jumped and split.:o

Best light show I can recall in quite some time with the activity this evening.  Almost continuous lightning in all parts of the sky.  

Picked up 0.11” of rain with the line, after narrowly missing storms the past 3 days.  Third consecutive day of 92 for the high, matching the hottest of the year.

Wow I am just stunned.  Great looking line with lots of lightning coming right at me and POOF it splits at the last minute and misses 2-3 miles south.  Hardly any rain at all.
This place in just incredible for missing thunderstorms.  Maryland's dust bowl.


Lotta poofs. That line just disappeared as it reaches DC. The curse continues. My PWS is at .49 inches of rain for the week. 2.63 in the last 30 days.

Move to higher ground now. This is an extremely dangerous and

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Central Grant County in eastern West Virginia...

* Until 715 AM EDT.

* At 413 AM EDT, local law enforcement reported flash flooding with
  ongoing thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area.
  Between four and six inches of rain have fallen, with additional
  rainfall up to an inch possible.

* Flash flooding will remain over mainly rural areas of central Grant
  County.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Flooding is occurring or is imminent. It is important to know where
you are relative to streams, rivers, or creeks which can become
killers in heavy rains. Campers and hikers should avoid streams or
creeks.
