Looks like the Linwood tornado is going to get a prelim EF4 rating.

Heard something internally that the final windspeed is still up for debate and that Tim Marshall and other engineers were being consulted for portions of the EAX survey path. Probably why there's no DI points in their CWA yet.

Where did you see 592 total?  SPC has 442 through 11am CDT 5/28 on there STAMTS.

https://www.spc.noaa.gov/climo/torn/STAMTS.txt

and there are so far 27 unfiltered prelim reports from 5/28, so that's 469.

I just counted the reports from every single day. I suppose the most important value, is the number of confirmed tornadoes. My best resource here is Wikipedia, which says 294.

Based on this video and the report above, it appears the tornado did weaken and rope out as it moved into Canton proper. Probably cycled as the couplet seemed to reintensify NE of the city. If so, they are fortunate, as it clearly looked intense in the earlier video. Still likely caused damage as there were high winds and RFD on the right side of the meso that clearly moved through the area based on early photos, but hopefully the folks at the trade event took shelter.
