Random question as we all watch this unfold.

What are the darker red streaks on a CAM?

When I do an HRRR loop say for UH reflectivity > 25?  I’ve alwasy wondered what those signify?

thanks.

Those are updraft helocity tracks where hail cores or possible tornadoes could be.

Let’s all come to a agreement which thread we will be posting to for today’s event instead of having to check 2 threads

I'd say this is a big enough stand-alone event to use the other thread dedicated for today. If y'all could post there that would be good IMO.

a lot of the storms so far west of I-35,  including the Stillwater storm now, looks like they are being torn apart by too much shear...you can see this on the visible too as the anvils are ripped from the updrafts ...maybe the CAP is killing the updrafts

they are "tilted".
