Upton calling for .75-1” IMBY but it’s looking like I’ll split the uprights with heavier to my NE and SE.  The HRRR and NAM 3K have me under .50” tonight, the 18z Euro spits out .60” here.  Time will tell.

.22” here last night, event total of .23” thus far

Terrible forecast. Not even sure if rained much. Flood watch needs to be tossed.

To be fair rain totals can vary widely with thunderstorms, as we know, but looking at the short range models and radar yesterday it wasn’t looking promising and that’s how it played out here. How did the rest of the area do?  Looks like a batch of rain will move through here this morning.

Plume of moisture beginning offshore in SC heading towards NYC metro. Looks like an all day event on tap.

Looks like areas from the city on east will have to deal with rain most of the day, areas west of the Hudson should end by late morning/early afternoon unless there is more development IMO.

Agreed. Up to .63” on the day, still raining good but that heavy band is almost through here.

Posted this earlier but moisture feed seems to be moving in a decidedly more NE direction. Some hope now for avoiding an all day washout.

More tornadoes in PA.

https://www.pennlive.com/news/2019/04/two-tornadoes-with-winds-stronger-than-100-mph-touched-down-friday-in-central-pa.html

At least two tornadoes, both with wind speeds stronger than 100 mph, touched down Friday evening in central Pennsylvania, where they damaged roofs and uprooted trees.

No one was injured by the tornadoes, which touched down after 7 p.m. in Huntingdon and Juniata counties, according to National Weather Service officials in State College.

The Friday tornadoes were among at least 11 confirmed this month across the state.

On Saturday, National Weather Service meteorologist Greg DeVoir said tornadoes are not unusual for the area, but “it’s a little early” in the year to see so many.

Typically, the area sees its most severe weather in May and June, DeVoir said.
