Unsurprisingly it blew up at EXACTLY the location where there was clear sunlight earlier on vis sat.

...A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 415 PM EDT
FOR THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA...SOUTH CENTRAL ANNE ARUNDEL...SOUTH
CENTRAL MONTGOMERY...NORTHWESTERN CALVERT...PRINCE GEORGES...NORTHERN
CHARLES...ARLINGTON...EASTERN FAIRFAX...AND SOUTHEASTERN PRINCE
WILLIAM COUNTIES...THE CITY OF FALLS CHURCH AND THE CITY OF
ALEXANDRIA...

At 350 PM EDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line
extending from College Park to Alexandria to near Montclair, moving
east at 45 mph.

These are very dangerous storms.

HAZARD...80 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.

SOURCE...Automated weather station. Reagan National Airport recorded
         a wind gust to 68 mph.

IMPACT...Expect considerable damage to trees and power lines. Your
         life is at significant risk if outdoors. In addition to
         some trees falling into homes, wind damage is possible to
         roofs, sheds, open garages, and mobile homes.

Locations impacted include...
Arlington, Alexandria, Waldorf, Dale City, Bethesda, Bowie,
Annandale, Clinton, Springfield, College Park, Fort Washington,
Langley Park, Fort Hunt, Groveton, Forestville, Falls Church,
Huntington, Largo, Coral Hills and Bladensburg.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Remain alert for a possible tornado! Tornadoes can develop quickly
from severe thunderstorms. If you spot a tornado go at once into the
basement or small central room in a sturdy structure.

This is an EXTREMELY DANGEROUS SITUATION with tornado like wind
speeds expected. Mobile homes and high profile vehicles are
especially susceptible to winds of this magnitude and may be
overturned. For your protection move to an interior room on the
lowest floor of a building. These storms have the potential to cause
serious injury and significant property damage.
