Down to 35 from 42 at 1130.  Rain/Sleet mix in N  Arlington.  Good luck to the North crew.

Good eyes.  lol I’m mocking the clowns on here who obsessed over sticking and temps. Rates = sticking. Doesn’t matter if it’s 50 the day before.

Been noticing the same thing, also looking at the 2m temperature. Cold consistently creeping south.

Even though our temps and rates have been comparable to surrounding areas....not much to show for it here in FDK valley.  Bummer so far...

Honestly, it seems like the fall line (ish) was the changeover since it was snow TV until getting off the GW Parkway.  I live just east of the fall line on the border of Arlington/Alexandria and its mostly rain (with some sleet/snow mixing in that I can hear against the window now).

It snowed the entire drive home (heaviest in Garrett and Allegany counties)...it was just starting to accumulate on I-68 in Garrett County as we left around noon but other than that, 68/70/270 were just wet.  Not much accumulation on the ground after Allegany county.  I stopped for gas in Meyersville and it was moderate snow, car thermometer said 34 degrees, and it had just started to accumulate on mulch/grass there.

How is it out by you?  I hope you guys do well.

We have about 3/4 inch and the rates have just started to pick back up again. I always loved driving into Tysons from here during snow storms when I worked down that way. It was so cool to see the change in precip types while driving to the east. I hope you guys down by the city can score some heavy snow later. It is always more fun when everyone is getting hit.

Light snow currently. 31 degrees.

Had about .5 on the deck prior to the rates letting up,over the past hour. Looks like I've lost about half of it to melting during the lesser rates.

Dusting on the grass now in Gaithersburg.  At this point I refuse to look at models and just live in unfounded optimism believing that it'll stay snow.  On another note, man this is a strong system.  It's been a long time since we've seen so many tornado warnings with confirmed large tornadoes on the ground.

4:00 update: .7 inches.

OK. Now we are talking. It has really started to pick up here over the past 15 minutes. Skies have darkened considerably. I am curious to see how quickly the roads cave as the sun sets. Beautiful outside right now.

I was just going to say that places that are getting snow, it should be getting easier to accumulate as we have heavier returns moving in from the west and the Sun beginning to set.

Moderate snow. Dusting on the grass which caved after only an hour. Kind of surprised.
