Jan-19-21 OBS for Snow/Sleet/ZR/Rain/Warmth/Cold - we got it all

Recommended Posts

You guys in the Lehigh Valley and Berks County take note. Here in Schuylkill, State College downgraded the warning to an advisory for 1-4 inches of mixed precipitation. Not sure if Mt Holly will follow suit in the transition counties or not, but just wanted to share it with you all...

Just had a few lazy large flakes here from a small blob of thin returns on radar, so virga is pretty much nil. Hopefully a few more flakes before the rain. 34F, DP 27.

Snow has begun here and immediately started to coat everything. NAM, HRRR, etc had it starting around 7 but I'll take an extra hour.

Snowing heavily here in NW Chesco as the change line approaches....a man wiser than me said you have to smell the rain to get the heavy snow!! Temp down to 32.0 all surfaces covered will measure when it changes over shortly not sure if it will be IP or ZR - if IP then we continue to measure snow....

Getting moderate snow with sleet mixing in under some yellows on the radar - 33F. Got a dusting (0.1") on colder surfaces so I guess that makes it an overperformer on some models, lol.
