Yea man, it's dumping again. 8" is within the realm for sure. Love how the streets and sidewalks folded instantly like the chargers.

Yeah some of the best rates of the storm now.  8 inches easy.  and if the advertised pattern is even close to verifiying, this is just a small appetizer. Good if not Great times ahead.

Even under the darker greens....just can't quite get beyond SN- and small flakage a few miles north of 70 here.  So close!

Had a lull with pixie dust for about 30 minutes. When i say dust I mean it. Looks like flour. Now big dendrites mixing back in again. What an amazing storm. I have had just about every kind of snowflake there is fall here in the past 30 hours.

Just went for a walk - really lovely out with the snow falling even though the heavy stuff you all are getting isn’t here. Still hoping a band gets here and then pushes up to Mappy and Hoff.

...NUMEROUS SNOW SHOWERS IMPACTING BALTIMORE AND WASHINGTON DC
METROPOLITAN AREAS LATE THIS AFTERNOON AND EARLY EVENING...

At 405 PM EST, numerous snow showers were impacting the greater
Baltimore and Washington DC Metropolitan Areas. Visibilities will
drop quickly to less than a quarter of a mile in some of these snow
showers, creating hazardous road conditions in some areas. If you
are driving, please slow down and prepare for changing road
conditions.

These snow showers will continue through mid-evening, before
tapering to flurries around midnight. Temperatures will reach the
lower 20s in the region overnight, so refreezing is likely,
especially in those areas that have not been treated with salt or
snow melt.

Conditions can deteriorate rapidly in winter weather situations. Be
prepared for snow or ice covered roads.

Going on hour 2 of our "shower"

Heaviest of the day even though the returns don’t look like it.  SN+

Yeah, this may be the heaviest yet here in Tenleytown as well. Maybe we're under the same band.

It feels good to be in the jackpot zone for a change. Even the biggest and best ones ... 2016, 2010, 1996 ... north and west got more. Which, of course, is totally to be expected. But I feel inside the Beltway is keeping pace with just about everyone with this one.

Annoying, it keeps going all around us, but it is still drifting north.

Just can't get the heavies here.  Been light tiny needle flakes stuff for the last hour or so.  Accumulating, but slowly.

26 hours of snow?

Yea, that part is atypical. I'm over 7.5" and it's still inch an hour rates. This stuff has to be close to 15:1

Up to 7.3 inches now for the storm, as of 4:30pm... with heavy, big flakes back currently in SE DC (20020). A little over an inch of snow in the past hour. Love the rates!

Roads/Sidewalks all covered again... temp continues hold steady, at 29.

We are on the wrong side of the event this time.  But hey, were usually the ones cashing in while Ian and Randy suffer through 4" of slop.

Hoping so too.  I would love a random day off tomorrow, but I'm getting more doubtful it happens.

8" in North Arlington with heavy snow ongoing. Looks like the gravy train will run out to the south sometime soon. Hoping for 9" as it pivots.

Everything coverd over again.  Whatever model said 30 hours was on.  Pretty sure this is the last hurrah.  Couple more hours perhaps.

That was a top shelf snow shower. Lightened a bit the last few minutes but it had to have dropped a quick inch.

Still in pixie needles in Woodbridge.  Anything promising zig zags then blows up north of me. Still total of 6.1. Maybe we can cash in after nightfall and maximize each flake. Only 5.2 on the ground.
