Just took a measurement here. 1.25 inches of all sleet on the car tops, 1 inch of sleet on the roads. It appears the 1/2 inch of snow I got last night has completely melted. Temperature has never went below freezing as it's 32.7 right now and everything is wet/slushy. 2.87 inches in the rain gauge for this storm:o, not counting what ice hasn't melted.

...VERY HEAVY SNOW AND SLEET TO AFFECT THE NORTHERN NORTH
CAROLINA FOOTHILLS AND NORTHWEST PIEDMONT THROUGH 11 AM...

National Weather Service radar indicated a band of very heavy
sleet and snow moving northward through the Interstate 40 corridor
in western North Carolina this morning. This band was producing
precipitation rates on the order of an inch per hour, and
significant and sudden additional accumulations will develop in
locations already impacted by heavy snow and sleet. Visibility
will drop to 1/2 mile or less in some areas. Winds gusting to 20
to 30 mph may accelerate the rate of downed trees, limbs, and
power lines and outages may become widespread.

Avoid all travel in and near the Interstate 40 corridor this
morning.
