Obviously ...solar ain't part of the equation at this time of year. ...but, the thicknesses are low, and any radar that has ptype built in is over to blue most places save the south coast.  Much of it probably isn't reaching the ground.

Of course actual ground truth speaks volumes and it seems some are seeing snow or at least flakes in the air that may or may not be accumulating.
