The greatest SWFE miracle in a challenging pattern during holiday week was 1990.

The models blew that badly.  Not totally surprising as back then the QPF on those events tended to run low but nothing spit out over 1-3 inches and places in NJ and EPA saw 7-10

cooled of somewhat down to 37 in New City----just looked at the GFS and the FV3 and am I mistaken or does it look like some areas will be dealing with ice and frozenprecip on the back end of todays system and possibly tomorrow morning ?

The operational GFS thermal profiles would suggest the possibility for a brief sleet mix in the far interior. Really marginal in likelihood and limited in scope.

It's been sleeting, mixed with other mostly frozen stuff, for about 90 minutes now. The ground is coated with a crunchy, slippery mess, 33*.
