Probably should have been more specific. I have a Zero Turn mower. I get under the mowing deck and scrape off all the grass that may have stuck to it, sharpen the blades, change the oil, and then make sure I use Stabil gas stabilizer in the gas and run it for 10 minutes. I also power wash it (only time I get the whole thing wet). Then I pull the snow blower and generator out and start them. Pull the mower deep into the garage and put the snow blower and generator in front of it. All done! I do the same for the Lawnmower. You can also drain all the gas, but I just put some Stabilizer in it and run it for a bit, clean the grass from underneath, sharpen the blade, and change the oil. Glad to see I am not the only one who cheats when it comes to mulching the leaves with the mower instead of raking them up. I still mow them towards the edges of the yard and into the woods, but a good bit gets finely mulched into the yard. Three 50-75' high silver maples, three decorative cherries, a black cherry, two walnut and one chestnut trees, a couple of willow trees. If I had to rake, I wouldn't stand a chance. Keep it mowed tightly during leaf drop and the bulk of my leaves easily blow out of my yard and into my neighbor's. This year has been exceptionally good with the cold weather stopping the grass from growing. Mine isn't quite that easy. As opposed to Chill, I am in a saddle with two roads above me. My property (3.5 acres) is pie shaped and HEAVILY wooded. I can push everything to the edges of the woods and then across what was to be another road on my left into a holler. I have cut two white oaks and 8 ash trees that were dead standing last two years for firewood, have 3 locust and probably another 3-4 ash to get down....and you can't tell where I cut except for the stumps. BTW, that is all that is dying up here, ash, locust and white oaks. Neighbors are same, I knew about the ash, but the white oaks and locust surprised me. Gave mine its initial winter buzz cut today. I do it for two reason: the first is what you mentioned, then second is so there’s no grass poking through when we get the pathetic little snows in the winter.
