I was thinking the same thing, such a waste of an anomalously cold airmass. Think what a big March bomb could have done with it.

Reading the central PA thread...some of them have had foot plus storms each of the last two years...in March...

As far as the pattern, we lament this every year. We go from 10 degree up to 40 pretty consistently. We also always have close calls where we get an inch plus of qpf but have mixing issues or rain. Our typical pattern seems to be cold and dry or warm and slip/rain.

Kinda disappointing how much cold air and moisture got wasted this season.

This week would have been great for a big storm.

I forget the pattern last year leading up to it, but we got around 15” post equinox....including that 10” storm.

So still hope to finish with a bang, but I’m done with cold/dry or warm/wet.

Here you go guys! Just for you. :)

Looks a lot like April ‘87....which would have been an all time storm if it were a month earlier.

....only 64 more runs!

Edit: maybe it was more the exact track than the time of year. Places to the south and south west did see 2’. We generally saw 10-12”, but a lot of places flipped to rain. That warm air being brought in to New York State in that model was western Pa for that storm. Kind of an odd look, but remember it well.

Just saw an article on Accuweather about an incoming windstorm this weekend, but NWS has no mention of wind this weekend.

Thoughts from you experts please :)

Should be pretty gusty on sunday. On the sounding the wind at surface level is only about 15mph, but the fact that the wind barbs are in the same direction up to 850mb makes me think that some mixing from the mid levels can cause some wind to make its way down to the surface.

Nothing like 2 weeks ago, but I could see a gust to 40 or 45.

Agree, it will be breezy and a few gusts not out of the question but nothing like the last setup in terms of sustained strength and duration.
