Definitely moderate as the end of my street was flooded and only does so with moderate events. We lucked out with the timing of the biggest swells from Florence arriving later in the week. Had those swells arrived during a moderate coastal flood event there could have been serious erosion issues.

Also had some tree damage here. A strong gust took down a large tree limb. Plenty of leaves and sycamore bark in the streets.

if the temperature doesn't rise and it falls like it has in the last hour NYC will tie a record low max for the date...the max so far in NYC is 62...the record is 62 set in 1883...

Numerous locations around the area could set or tie record low maximum temperatures. However, the guidance suggests that readings could begin rising toward midnight, so it could be a close call.

Looks like 90's could be done for the season with such a persistent easterly flow setting up into late September.

Tending to agree overall but temps could approach 90 next week 9/18-19 again if we can ever clear up.  Beyond there you never know if some late month heat to polish off the month.

I would welcome an extension of summer.  As I remember it, summer really didn’t get started until july(in terms of sustained warmth and sun). What I could do without is the humidity.   I should have clarified my stance

1st 3 weeks of June were cool, I remember a bunch of days here around 70, but wow-when summer came it came with a vengence.
