If Central Park remains at or above 80 degrees (5 am reading: 82 degrees), that would be Central Park’s latest 80-degree minimum temperature on record. The current latest such figure was established  on August 15, 1985 with a low temperature of 80 degrees and tied in 1988 when the low temperature was 81 degrees.

Remainder of August averaging 83degs., or about 10degs. AN.

Month to date is  +2.5[77.8].     Should end August at  +3.1[78.3].

The full 8 days is averaging 80degs., or 8degs. AN.

The summer[JJA] should end at about +1.47, or 1.1SD units AN.

81/77/88. Low was 75.

It was still 91-92 close to midnight in Queens, temp didn’t drop below 90 until I was roughly a mile into Nassau, when I got home it was “only” 81.

I don’t watch tennis, but I read that the US Open has been hellish and players have been dropping like flies. Dangerous heat.

That's just absurd.  The warmth we've had overnight this Summer is crazy.

3rd highest minimum temperature on record for LGA at 84 degrees. This is the first time that a minimum this high occurred this late in the season.

Warmest minimum temperatures on record for LGA:

#2...85...2011

Nearby LGA was 98 and those courts absorb heat well, you can add at least a few degrees if not more.

That really shows how how these type of warm lows are a very recent phenomenon.

If BDR can hold its 78 minimum through midnight, then it will have the 3rd warmest also.
