It looks pretty bad out there this morning in Queens. The sky is dark enough to make it look like it's night time out. Hoping much of this will end for a while with some sun to come out before noon before our next round arrives. Have to go out and don't want to get drenched. When it's torrential downpours even an umbrella won't keep anyone dry.

Gullywashers out here lol.

When the rain looks to lighten up a little it reloads to a torrential downpour. Have a little bit of water coming under the door into basement now.

Nws went as far to say a tornado developing is not impossible within the severe tstorm warning

Next 8 days averaging 80degs., or 5degs. AN.

Month to date is  +4.7.    Should be  +4.8 by the 19th.   Estimate 80.4 by the 19th., and above the monthly record---but with the rest of Aug. from then,  having an average of about 73---another heatwave will be needed to set record.

Wed - Fri (8/15 -8/17) looking hot, of course pending on storms clouds.  Models spiking 850s 18-22C.  By 8/18 next Sat they come down with more widespread storms, potential closed ULL.  Beyond there perhaps heights rise b 8/23-24 ish again.

We have had an incredible amount of rain here in NE pa. Started with torrential convection with lots of thunder and lighting this morning. Now it’s been non stop moderate strataform rains.

Looks like Wantagh really missed most of the convection this morning with much heavier amounts to the east and west. We have done extremely well so far this month so missing out isn’t a big deal.

...pouring out here..I'm under a flash flood warning and i can see why..radar indicated

not much movement of the precipitation.

..after todays' NON beach day we are left with only 2 sundays remaining in august..as we

always say.."where did summer go?".
