Maybe some kind of UHI? MHT doesn’t radiate anymore either, but get a bit away from downtown and it’s a different story.

The airport is basically in Londonderry/Litchfield does uhi really affect the readings that far from the actual city?

Boston had a seabreeze and BDL had a day or two with south winds so not a true torch this time around like 2013 and other heat waves. It was impressive, but those other ones still beat it. You really need days of SW winds to bring the sustained heat in. The ridge axis was just a bit north of true climo spot for SNE. The sustained high dews though sort of helped make up for the lack of super high temps.

If at all acclimated to that pig's air mass ... yeah, can see that intially as a shock

My wife is closing up the sliding glass doors and windows around our place like there's a frost coming tonight.

House temp is down to a nice 65F.  After the past week, it does really feel like an autumn air mass.  It's crazy how fast the body acclimated, given I work largely out-of-doors.  You just start expecting those conditions forever when you walk outside.

58/48 here and a strong breeze, feels very fallish

Yeah,   60/47 here.  Windows have been wide open all the afternoon but shutting some down now.  Extra blanket type of night.  Few more hours for it to get to our Southern New England friends but what a change, hour by hour...

Feels so much better out now!!! Before you know it Fall will be here.. in a little over a month we can start getting some crisp nights and the first real signs of fall

It's one thing I love about living here. We get crisp nights even in the middle of summer, and it can feel fallish in the middle of July. ❤️ it

I live in Death Valley and that was a notable, very significant heatwave but not quite top end historic I never hit 100 with 99 and 96 my two hottest days. I remember hitting 100 3 days in a row in a heat wave when I was younger.   Several days were in the low-mid 90's with a pretty good south wind that kept the full atmosphere temp from being realized.  Dews were impressive, hit 77-78 a couple of times and spent many hours above 70.  Definitely one memorable hot stretch and dews were top shelf material but the S flow kept this from being what it could have been in the temperature department.
