A record breaking ocean temperature week along the East Coast. #WrightsvilleBeach's current water temp is 89 degrees. It's impressive when any part of our area can at least tie a July 2009 record low following so much heat and humidity. The pattern is showing quite a bit of volatility or swings going back to last fall. 2 record lows have been tied this morning. Islip, NY has dropped to 54 degrees, which tied the previous record low for July 8 set in 1979.
