87storms Posted June 11, 2018 Share Posted June 11, 2018 mini bust here. didn't get much of anything friday...a brief shower saturday...and i'm assuming a half inch overnight. flood watch not needed. also, i noticed that the potomac has receded dramatically in the last few days. pretty incredible how quickly that happens. some of the campgrounds that were completely flooded are now back. I have been hoping for a dry period to dry out the wetland, but the "upland" part of my property where the house and yard is has excessively well drained soil. Even with over 10" of rain the past 5 weeks, this time of year a 10-day stretch without significant rain and things transition to dust bowl. Grass can go to thatch quick.
