Just topped the 7" mark of rain since last night..unreal

We have had just under 5 inches since last night as well. Live about 5 miles south of hwy 11. John cessarich showed at 4:30 walhalla having .27 & pickens having .94 since midnight last night. Got a neighbor 3 miles from us like you has had over 7 inches since last night. Think old john or his computerized rain gauges may be sipping the "good stuff" in between the live shots every 30 minutes or so.... LOL... Because they are no where close to being right.....

I love it when our forecasters add a personal touch to their AFDs.  From GSP this morning:

Quote

As of 1100 AM: Uncapped instability ranging from 500-1000 J/kg is
currently being analyzed across the CWFA, allowing isolated showers
to develop across parts of the Blue Ridge and Upstate SC. With the
sun breaking out in many areas already and progressive erosion of
the lower cloud decks, expect instability to continue to increase
and support more widespread shower activity through the rest of the
morning and then development of thunderstorms by early afternoon.
Despite plentiful upper-level moisture, GOES16 low-level water vapor
imagery (Channel 10, for those playing along at home) showed a
distinct chunk of dry air over much of the CWFA this morning, which
likely played a large role in the lull in precipitation across the
area earlier today. The same channel is now indicating low-level
airmass moistening as south/southeasterly flow has continued,
however, and would mean the column is quickly saturating, also
supporting the blossoming of more widespread shower and thunderstorm
activity as the day wears on.

:D
