My area got 5.5" of snow on Saturday and Sunday. There were some 6-7" from Fort Collins and Boulder, 4-6" in Cheyenne, and something like 2" for Denver. There were a large number of places across the northern plains that got over 1", which is pretty impressive for lower elevations at this time of year.

It does look pretty cold for the coming few days. Cold front isn't here just yet though. I've been waiting for a cold month here since August 2017 - it looks like it is finally happening.

This is my outlook for winter if anyone is curious. I included snow anomalies for each analog year (July-June since we live in the mountains).

Raindance - thanks for posting your winter outlook - obviously a TON of work went into that and I'll need some time to absorb it (not that I even can absorb all of it ^_^).  I saw recently where Larry Cosgrove suggested this upcoming winter in the US could have similarities to 2009-10 - I would take a winter like that one for northern CO in a heartbeat....

For 10/1-10/16, the mean high in Phoenix is the coldest its been in at least 100 years.

I ran the numbers here, cold Octobers (<69.3F for an Oct high) much more likely to be cold. We're currently at 68.4F, and we have another cold day on 10/18 before we revert back to a relatively normal pattern, i.e. highs in the mid-60s.

Things are warming up a lot here. Our temperatures were about 65 here. We had a high of 29 on Sunday. Denver was 27 degrees on Sunday. Denver hasn't had a high temperature of 27 or lower since February 22nd, 2018.

Great Falls MT was warmer than Brownsville TX today

Yesterday, Edmonton, Canada area was 70-74 and Brownsville TX was 63.  Texas has really been socked in with cool weather. The Midland-Odessa area was 42 degrees on Tuesday afternoon. They haven't had a high of 42 or lower since February 21st, 2018. That was 8 months ago.
