Might even squeeze out a 3 day heatwave. 3 consecutive days of 90 in early May would be impressive

Would be our first May1-7 heatwave since 2001. At least our snowfall this spring beat out that bust of a March storm.;)

KPOU now at 90. Despite the cold April, earliest first 90F+ day since 2012 and nearly a month earlier than average.

Looks like 90 would tie the record high set on 5-2-10. Continues our big temperature swing theme since September. POU just had a record low of 26 degrees on 4-21-18.

Definitely chilled down here now with a stiffer onshore wind.

LB would have much cooler summers if the SST's were like Northern California. SST's in the upper 40's south of LI today. That's practically a polar bear lite swim.;)

Do you know if an earlier first date correlates well with an above normal total number of 90 days that season?  Seems that way, except 1966 for one.

GFS already showing massive HW starting mid-month---when I predicted first 90 would occur based on RWTT which, ironically, is BN now for that period.

First time since 1950 that NYC reached 90 degrees during the first week of May following an April that averaged under 50 degrees. This is our most recent big temperature swing since September.

Previous Aprils under 50 degrees since 1950 and May 1-7 high temperature in NYC

Already up to 77 here, yesterday at this time it was 72. Also a bit more humid with a DP in the low 50’s vs the mid 40’s yesterday morning.

Today was supposed to be slightly cooler than yesterday, but at this rate I highly doubt it.

yeah, high launching pad with high morning lows...I would think there are widespread 90 degree readings today.

some years had a lot of 90 degree days and some not so many...1966 had 35 90 degree days......1991 and 93 hold the record at 39...2009 had very little...2010 a lot...1977 was above average...1976 was below average...
