For the repeating weather pattern fans, this spring some had remarkably similar avg stats to last year.

.............................avg temp.....precip

NYC spring 2018.........52.1.....14.38"

.................2017..........52.5.....15.47"

One 90 degree day behind last year so far

2018......2 so far

2017.... 13 total ...3 by 5/31

I had sun here in SW Suffolk earlier. But the marine layer is pushing further inland now. Classic summer along the Northern California Coast weather.

Driving from Melville to Long Beach, there was a very sharp cutoff mid afternoon around Merrick Rd and low clouds on the Loop Parkway and home. Bright sunshine north of Merrick Rd in Freeport/Merrick.

Never broke out of the thick fog at jones beach. Very raw with a stiff SE wind.

...quite an amazing view this evening..went down to the bay(moriches) and looking across the bay

you couldn't see the barrier island @ Westhampton Dunes..this under mostly clear & sunny skies..quite

a sight to see the fog bank hugging the coast.

You would never know this was a top 10 warmest May with all the clouds and easterly flow.

And that precip was only average or a bit below in many spots

18 out of 31 days in NYC with a T or more of rain and -0.61below normal rainfall. Only 3.43 at NYC to 7.16 at TTN. That's one heck of a gradient with the heaviest rains focusing to our SW.
