Next 8 days down to an average of 63degs., or about 1deg. AN.

Month to date is a whopping +15.8.   Should be closer to +6 by the 12th.   To get back to  Normal by the 31st., we are going to have to be near -2degs. for the next 28 days, practically a BN month itself.

On the other hand, if we go +5.7 for those 28 days, this will become the hottest May ever.

Anyone else notice the 55-60 day pattern that started on 9/13/17? While the warm phases have been more extreme than the colder ones, this has been our period of big temperature swings.

9/13/17-11/6/17...warm

11/7/17-1/8/18.....cold

1/9/18-3/4/18......warm

3/5/18-4/30/18....cold

5/1/18.....flipped back to warm again

That suggests we torch May and June and July and August will be on the cooler side...time will tell...

Month to date still a whopping +16.6, but should be down to a +6 by the 13th.   Unfortunately, just a +6.4 is needed to set a new monthly record for May.   The GEFS looks very much like this would be doable for the next 15 days overall.

Avg. May   62.4    Record May  68.7 in 1991.

Didn't we set a new Record High Low Temp. yesterday at 72?   Looks like record was 71.

Newark recorded the 2nd warmest temperature on record before May 16th this week. This is also the first time for such extreme warmth so early following an April under 50 degrees. The big temperature swings just keep coming.

Something tells me we will see more 90 degree temps before the month is over.

I heard the other day was the warmest we get till 2019

As Bluewave mentioned, the signals are indicating that it will get hot again in mid May. I'll be surprised if we don't see more 90s during the week of May 14th. We need to enjoy the perfect low 70s weather next week, before it gets hot again.

Some of the best weather we get around here today. Only thing missing would be brilliant sunshine..but filtered sun is good enough. Had a midnight high of 78 and current afternoon high of 76. Clouds getting thicker now.
