Gfs coming in with alot of freezing rain.

Dude honestly it's just about nowcast time. The precip is pushing into WNY now and will be to you in a couple hours. Throw the models out the windows especially the global models. Time to sit back, relax, and enjoy the show.

Precip coming down good but it's about 50/50 rain and sleet. Some loud pingers bouncing off them windows.

We’re all sleet in NE Buffalo. Light to moderate.

Is it a rain sleet mix or straight sleet?  Wet sleet leaves behind some water in situations like this which ends up accreting.

It didn’t feel wet, but it’s also melting on the sidewalk and street.

Already?? Are you in a area prone to outages?

Since I moved here a little over a year ago never lost power for more than 10 seconds. NYSEG says there's an outage on Seneca St near Ridge Rd, cause unknown. 1,780 customers affected. Estimated restoration is 9:30pm.

Minimal customers affected in National Grid territory. Fewer than five in the city of Buffalo, which is basically the kind of very low level interruptions that happen in any weather.

Power just came back on, sooner than expected which is great. Wonder what caused it? Also there seems like small snow flakes or grains mixing in with the ZR. Not sleet or graupel but not straight snowflakes either. Regardless already getting a glaze on everything including the patio and driveway... temp down to 29 with dp of 25...

Seems to be all IP here. I don't think I've ever been so happy to hear the pingers!

Happy to hear...although round 2 could be the bigger one with ZR. Hope we escape it in this round.
