The funny thing is the warm has been interspersed with chilly so the vibe is not as warm as it’s actually been.   But of course Tuesday popped up to 85 so the warm is over performing as it did the first days of May.

Another warm one today and Sunday and with 70's-near 80  all next week, I suspect lots of pools will start opening at homes. It's been a great summery month overall. We really Can't complain about a rainer here and there, even if it's a Saturday.

Glad we here and not there.

Dreary , May has had some nice days but no long string of great days, would be nice to have a sunny dry spell but that's not until next week when the rooster returns. Less than 7 total hrs of sun since the sunset of May 11th

It's been mostly sun up here since then excluding Saturday. Partly sunny now and looks like it'll be mostly sunny in a couple of hours. Up to 70F.

Lots of clouds today...not sure how warm it will be. 5 days this month have been summer like. The rest were near or below.

11 of the first 16 were AOA at BOS.  9 of 16 solidly above and 5 double digits above.   But who’s counting?

Yes AN but just isn't consistent COC type days, hopefully we get a break from the clouds and drizzle/rain/storms pattern of the last 8 days. Tuesday cleared and  was hot for 2 hrs then boom boom pow. Temps don't tell the whole story about a nice May or not.

Heh...this is precisely what I've been musing as reading these lunch hour posts...

It's really about 5 or 7 days yankin' averages untoward in the upward direction - otherwise... it's weirdly conditioning folks into thinking it's been a cool month. I guess that happens when you get four days of average or even below, then one day of +20 huh.

But..that's just what it 'seems' like - not sure what the dailies have been.

Totally opposite scenario up here. I'm not complaining.

Yeah no I added to that post - ...  ' not sure what the dailies really show' ...

which makes the above, it's possible the month's been above normal more so than not.  Sure -

It's just that "seems" and fact often do part company -

It's been "nicer" compared to normal the further north you go. There's a been a few days where I've come on here to post about a top 10 day and I see people in SNE complaining about raw rain. Usually it's me in the CAD drizzle of despair this time of year.

It's this monster +NAO ( I suspect..).  It's more than merely figuratively backing an unusually strong band of circumnavigating westerlies through central into SE Canada ... With it's attendant s/w (in the means) periodically sending high bubbles and clearing as far S of central NY through upstate NY... while the crud you normally vape ends up pushed further south toward SNE/upper M/A

Canadian long range could be fun

That TC's been in the GFS oper. and occasionally among its ensemble members for like 7 or 10 days ...heh... now, even the Euro is tossing options at us...

interesting...

This probably explains a lot of the regional perception.
