I would expect the watch to changes to advisories / warnings after the 12z guidance comes in.  We're within the 24 hours of the event starting now.  Wonder if they go advisory for Central MoCo south through DC and warning up north.  Probably the conservative thing to do.

WEDNESDAY...

* WHAT...Heavy snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 4 to 8
  inches are expected.

  northern Maryland and northern and northwest Virginia.

* WHEN...From 2 AM to 8 PM EDT Wednesday.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Plan on difficult travel conditions. Be
  prepared for significant reductions in visibility at times.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Winter Storm Warning for snow means severe winter weather
conditions will make travel very hazardous or impossible. If you
must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food and water in your
vehicle in case of an emergency. The latest road conditions for

I appreciate your obs today as I am at work in NE DC, near Union Station.  You're just up the road from my neighborhood (Milestone at 355 and 27).

Here in Northeast looking out the window it just looks like drizzle.
