So question for the group...any ideas why BOX hasn't extended the Blizzard Warning further west into RI?  Providence and Newport are certainly meeting the criteria.  I know it's for 3 consecutive hours, but conditions appear to be only worsening through midday.

There isn't a chance that newport has experienced blizzard conditions for 20mins today thus far, let alone long enough to verify. We've largely been in relative subsidence for the last 2 hrs and despite the gusts, which aren't consistent pixie dust hurtling by in brightening light isn't dropping visibility near enough.

Providence on the other hand, per the radar at least, might have a shout.

Idiots on the news acting like this is the first time it has ever snowed in New England. Live breaking coverage of some moderate snow in Bridgewater.

As a former outsider, to be fair, 15-30" is mind-blowing stuff outside New England. We simply can't fathom it unless we experience it for ourselves.

Local news stations should be required to hire locals

The weather coverage is better than ever before because of the technology but news reporting is a shell of itself because local stations don't have the money they used to with so many viewers migrating to cable, internet and everything else that barely existed twenty years ago.

Kevin almost out of the sucker hole....Ryan still rejoicing though for the moment while he gets ML magic and Kevin chokes on exhaust.

Metrowest is getting annihilated right now...that band up near and just beyond 128. Where is Ray? His area must be getting hammered.

He's referring to UUU, the Newport state airport in the upper part of Middletown a couple miles north of your fanny. This area, close as it is, probably has double the snow you have.
