Looks like the banded radar is going to be temporary as the stuff off the water moves in. Something to watch though because it's going to be hard to sustain rates good enough for widespread 12''+ if we have a shredded radar all night.

I think its going to remain banded.

Just want to hit my 8" call.

Yeah I think the show for you down to Ray and up through SE NH is that big slug moving north and east of Provincetown right now...you can see it just aiming straight for NE MA as it curls back around the flow. That should igve you a pretty nice 2-3 hours of really good rates I think....we'll see though...sometimes this stuff is unpredictable as we all know.

that is subtly ironic ...  No sooner did Will and I comment on it, rad starts acting like this entered decay - hmm.  Definitely fragmenting, but also, the rad motion is slowed down.  Hard not to wonder if this thing maxed already as a system..

In any case.. 8"  here.   Snow now S-  ..  30 F

Yea, looks skunked/occuluded....once they start looking like that, there is no going back in my experience.

Think it'll become an issue as far east as where we are?

6.5"

That makes sense too based on watching radar all night. I'm at 5" and you have been getting the bands before the hills in Shutesbury and Pelham rip them up heading NW.   I'll be disappointed in my totals but fun storm to watch and understand snow growth. Hernia baking powder here.   Euro kind of nailed the precip shadow and it was a weird one that actually affected pretty high elevations east of here.

Actually what was the time of that 23'' report? From when I took my measurement until now I wouldn't be surprised if we perhaps tacked on like 4'' or so. Going to measure now...not going to get much more accumulation

It's showing up as 24" on GR2A from 3:00 UTC/10:00 PM.

I tend to agree. Can't sugarcoat it looks like ****e all of a sudden. I happen to have stayed in good returns so I can't complain but idk about hitting a foot. Can't afford any extended periods of it snowing upwards.

Storm looks like a disappointment to me, but we'll see.

System is aging....good luck having it find the fountain of youth.

Maybe try some of Jerry's viagra.

Yeah if we can't get a uniform +SN shield it's going to be tough to see the big totals. You'll go from ripping to all of a sudden looking at the streetlight and seeing the snow dancing around instead of falling and then back to ripping. There was a storm several years ago where we were forecast 1-2' and had a banded radar all night and I ended up with a measly 9'' of baking powder.

The Albany radar is just classic East slope upglide wow, wouldn't be surprised 30s out there

I probably need to bag work tomorrow and go B'East.  This couldn't work out better if Greenfield gets shafted and kid has delayed school.  Clear driveway, bring boy to school, go skiing (hopefully convince wife to join).
