March 5 - Inverted Trough/Snow Squalls

Baroclinic Zone

Recommended Posts

So it looks like we have an interesting setup for early Monday.  There is a potent s/w diving out of Ontario.  While this is occurring our storm that just exited yesterday will be pinwheeling back an inverted trough.  These 2 will interact with each other and light off a brief but potentially intense bad of snow squalls.

The 1st image shows 850mb level frontogenesis and the 2nd is the 500mb level s/w, that closes off south of us.  Location of the best banding can be difficult to determine at this lead but it's a pretty solid signal for some snow in the air for some.
