Got a stout dusting that turned the ground surprisingly white-ish, I'm pleased!  It'll be interesting to see if the hi-res NAM is correct in bringing another hour or so of decent returns overnight.  For now I'm periodically stepping outside to observe the ongoing micro flizzard haha.

Mini blizzard here in Chicago, cool to look at in between the skyscapers.Lake Michigan was rough this afternoon.

You picked a good time to visit, not many times a year that the wind is blowing where Chicago proper gets lake effect usually northern Indiana, missing Chicago proper.

It was suppose to have already gone into Indiana, just slower. Not a big snow, but fun to look at with the winds howling. The lake was rocking though not a good boating day

With the temps crashing that hard afterwards, even a little bit of fluffy snow will make the roads a skating rink.  Should be interesting.

That last bit of moisture over northern middle Tn and Southern Ky looks like it's moving ESE but it's also drying up. Could just be entering poor radar range on the western Plateau. Not making it to the MRX radar area yet. It's snowing here. a dusting so far. Rates are nothing to write home about. That band has solid 1/2 inch per hour rates in it.

It'll probably pop into MRX range soon and hopefully give 40 north some extra juice.  I think it's entering the radar hole.

yep, looks like its drying up to me... sadly

Snowing at a good clip here, but that will likely change very soon.

How much do you have on the ground bud?

About 1/2 to 3/4 inch, I'm not even sure the southern part of the county got anything but a dusting, if even that. As expected, ground temps were a huge issue. took forever to finally accumulate.

Looks like north middle and upper cumberland get the final flakes as she peters out.  Congrats to all that got snow, hopefully we get several more chances as we enter the ideal climo period!  :guitar:

Dang I do not see much good news around TRI. Sorry my forecast busted there. So, Knoxvegas got a dusting instead.

Late afternoon Friday Chatty had some snow grains / snizzle / grizzle. GFS says that's it for a while. Euro still offers a New Hope.

Looks like the 12Z GFS came around to the Euro!

NW flow snow here. Nickel sized flakes have been falling most of the day. Mostly light but nice to see.

I LOVE days like that, after a heavy snow.  Never added much additional accumulation, but kept the sun from melting it.  That and snow falling on snow is just good stuff.

Snow picked up as it got dark this evening as it tends to do here during NW flow flakes. Lots of nickel to quarter sized flakes filling the air. Temp is 16 degrees. Cove Lake in Caryville was so frozen that it didn't thaw during the warm up and it's looking nice with snow covering it.

With most of the snowfall accounted for I raked up roughly 1.4 inches an inch more than I was honestly expecting. The whole day was characterized by light snow showers. Currently.... 14F, Mostly cloudy flakes still falling with a light nw wind.

Glad you got in on the NW flow action and that's awesome Cove Lake didn't thaw.  We'll be taking the camper to the park over there in March.  Beautiful area.
