January 4-6 Coastal Bomb Observations/Nowcast

Recommended Posts

Visibility is very low...blowing everywhere!! 3 inches or so from what I can tell. Small flakes but very concentrated to say the least.  Winds are very active already.

13z HRRR still looks good for western areas.....upped a bit in eastern I think.

Still manages to put me at 6".  lol

SN+, poor flakes.

lol

I don’t trust the NAM even at go-time, but I’d rather see this at 6hr than d3.

Very heavy snow in Middletown, CT.  We're in that snow-fog that we get during the most prolific snowstorms.  I'm surprised by how windy it is. 18F.

Haven't measured, but looks like 2-3" so far.

Love waking up and seeing that almost all the latest models have an area of enhanced QPF right over Middlesex County, CT.  Good luck to all!

NAM led the way on this from the get go......not sure about those amounts but can't rule it out

Need that damn CF to collapse, causing some subsidence

Yeah the good stuff has been parked just to our south, some of the hires stuff is starting to show a screw zone in/around the city so hopefully that doesn't verify.

I was up at 4am this morning and saw nothing.  Then at 5 there was a dusting but, looked light.  Now there are fairly large flakes coming down at a good clip with some blowing.  Probably an inch or two at this point but, will likely add up quick.

Looked like it was washing out some in the last couple frames.
