just got to get at least 8" ... and together with the wind that seems (oddly enough) to be a sure bet, that'll really seal it -

Local news WTNH just said they were picking up lighting in the same area. Not sure if they use the blitzortung network. I did see a friend in New London post about thunder on Facebook.

Well, I went to work at 7 AM with a light snow and set three stones...  I’d be living in the work tent If I hadn’t left by 8:30.  Really impressive snowfall rate in Watch Hill, RI.   At about 3 inches now.  And as I assumed, good ol’ Cumberland Farms is still open... assuming anyone can find the front door.   Stay safe folks!
