Remainder of month averaging 29degs., or 4degs. BN.

Month to date is just  -0.50 and Jan. should end @  -0.75.

The whole 8 day period is averaging a surprising 25degs., or 8degs BN.  Long Range had the first 5 days of Feb. AN.

Right now 31.5degs., light snow, sticking only to car tops and grass so far.

Hey Don. Easton CT and Fairfield CT. Received 1.5 from this storm. Bridgeport had to receive the same amount and would be shocked if they under reported yet again for this storm, the way they under report for every storm this year.

Don any updates on the totals and what are the monthly and seasonal snowfall totals for these locations so far?

The January 29-30 storm brought the following snow accumulations to select locations:

Atlantic City: 0.3” (January total: 14.5”)
Bridgeport: 2.1” (January total: 11.4”)
Islip: 6.0” (January total: 22.0”)
New York City:
…JFK: 1.5” (January total: 9.7”)
…LGA: 1.2” (January total: 8.7”)
…NYC: 0.9” (January total: 11.1”)
Newark: 0.6” (January total: 10.0”)

The above monthly figures are based on the lower of the Public Information Statement and daily climate report. “M” has been entered in the monthly climate summary (CF6), as it appears possible that the daily climate report double-counted the snow that fell on January 29 for several locations.

New London and Suffolk Counties saw the highest snowfall amounts. Select snowfall amounts from New London and Suffolk Counties included:

New London County:
Ledyard Center: 7.5”
Stonington: 7.0”

Suffolk County:
East Moriches: 7.0”
East Quogue: 8.7”
Eastport: 8.0”
Laurel: 7.8”
Mattituck: 7.9”
Miller Place: 7.0”
Riverhead: 7.4”
Selden: 7.0”
Southampton: 7.3”
Upton: 8.7”

The 8.7” reported in East Quogue and Upton were the highest snowfall figures reported anywhere for the storm. The second highest figure was 8.6” at West Wareham, MA.

New York City’s Average Temperature Through:

1/30: 31.9° (0.6° below normal)
1/31: 31.6°-31.8° (1/30 estimate: 31.4°-32.0°)

Per sensitivity analysis, the estimated probability of a below normal monthly anomaly: > 99% (1/30 estimate: > 99%)
