The point for tomorrow night has temps rising into the lower 50s by around 3am.  That will be nearly 70 degrees warmer than Saturday morning!!

EDIT:  Checked the point for Sterling and they have the same.  Since they hit -24 Sat morning that would be 75 degrees warmer lol.

Wednesday Night
A 50 percent chance of rain after midnight. Areas of fog. Otherwise, cloudy, with a temperature rising to around 51 by 3am. South wind around 10 mph. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.

Down to patches.  Lots of standing water with the ground still frozen.  Gonna enjoy the 50s tomorrow morning.

Yeah, there is an inordinate amount of puddles/standing water for the amount of water equivalent in the melting snow.  Ground definitely frozen lol

The roads around here have really gone to the crapper the past few days lol.  Lots of heaving on certain roads from the frost, and of course pot holes popping up faster than pimples on a adolescent.  You guys may have a shot at 60 tomorrow due to optimal timing of the fropa.  Think even here we have a shot at the mid 50s before we tank into the mid 20s by sundown.

Yeah I think 60 is in play.  Strong low level advection with 925 mb temps around 11-12C.

ORD record is 61.  Knock knock.  Would prob lean just a bit lower than that for now.

I just love days like tomorrow.  You go from full on spring to temps dropping below freezing no more than 50-75 miles behind the cold front.

Yeah huge temp crashes like that never get old.  Always entertaining.  We'll already be down into the 20s before the front reaches you guys.  I can't wait to see how warm it is at Sterling around 7am.  Sterling was -22 at 7am Sat IIRC, and MLI was -16 at 8am.

Up to 56 at ORD, which is even running a bit ahead of the warmest of guidance. That record of 61 is very much in play by the looks of it.

Mild temp/DP combo quickly did work on the snowpack today, with only piles left by this evening. Shouldn’t be anything outside of the biggest of piles left by tomorrow evening.

Yeah, 2-3 degrees ahead of the HRRR/RAP.  Gonna be close.
