It all rests on the inverted trough look to the isobars.  Not a very organized system lol.

It obviously hasn't occurred yet but the GFS has schooled the Euro the past couple days for that system.

I think it can come nw some but the amped eura is laughable. shes done this a bunch since the last upgrade, leading to many forecast busts.

More than likely what we are noticing is a change in East Coast cyclogenesis. The gap really hasn't narrowed with verification stats. But it is possible on a regional scale something has changed.

They really only care about European forecasts in the end, so if there is a slight degradation in East Coast storms, it's not sweat off their backs.
