Not going to go back and double check but those numbers are a pretty good match I believe through the DC/Balt corridor to what the models were spitting out on the good runs from the other day. Using the Kuchera method and not the 10:1 that is.

Hey, 2 isn’t bad for being as far west and north you are with this system. And thanks, I got lucky with those bands.

Not complaining at all about 2". Well maybe just a little when I see the higher totals just to my south and east.  Always knew that I would be on the fringes of this system irregardless of what the models were spitting out so I am just happy to be on the board.

About 3-4"

Long term it looked like could be a big storm
Middle term it became blah

4 days away, there was little hope

3 days away, the trend was obvious, it was going to be a few inch storm

2 days was fun, big shift NW

day of it busted!
In the last few minutes it came back on the backend going from 1-2" event to 3-4"

Kind of fun but in the back of my mind I know that 37 degrees and no canadian high is a mediocre event. nice release of energy, :) thanks

I think ratios ended up being better for most locations than previously anticipated, but we had less precipitation than forecast. So it balanced out to some degree.  A general 2-4" forecast turned out very well for most locations except Jackpotville.

True,  I got less than half of what msot models were predicting 24 hours ahead of the storm but when the snow really started my temp dropped quicker than forecast by the models and I ended up with slightly greater than a 10-1 ratio.

Cocorahs report from relatively nearby (2 NNW Burke) was 1.5” as reported this morning. With some compaction, that would put us at a bit under 2”. I think this area might take the prize for lowest snowfall in this event.

My lighted tree in the snow

Nice tree Wes.  Hard to beat a nicely decorated evergreen with snow on it.  Had a 35 foot Holly tree at our previous house with a perfect shape to it.  Lived there for 5 years and put bout 2000 small white lights on it.  Took a while to do, but looked great.  Miss that tree.  Have others at our current home, but not the same.  Was outside much of yesterday putting up more lights in the snow.  Was great way to spend the afternoon and evening.  Like a Jebwalk in circles...

My tracker said I logged 6.18mi of walking yesterday. I maximized the experience but all it did was leave me longing for more....

That's what is so great about getting a decent early season snow. We have a legitimate 3 months left to get more opposed to that late season snow when you know it's probably it until next year.

A collective sigh of relief could be heard for hundreds of miles after getting a legit early Dec event under our belts. It appears that the chances of another event this month are well above average too. From way out, the holiday week looks like we're back in business. Later this week might squeeze a light event but not very impressive from how it looks right now.

We need to collectively will a good storm for the 23rd-27th period. If that happens then this Dec will be talked about fondly for many years.

Caroll county folks did pretty well too ... Sparky beat me ;)

It was a good event everywhere except for the far western zones. Temps were remarkably cold for early Dec. Half of my accum happened with crappy snow growth and never more than light snow. The afternoon stuff was great. Colorado style snow. Goes down as one of the better widespread early Dec events for sure
