It certainly does, only out-failed by last year's dismal 12.5".   Our area has taken a much harder snow drought hit compared  to places, say, along I-95 considering the annual snowfall averages out here are considerably higher, 35"+,

12/9/17 - 2.5”

12/15/17 - .9” - another pleasant light event

12/30/17 - .2"

1/4/18 - 1"

1/8/18 - glaze of ice on sidewalks/side streets

1/17/18 - 1"

1/30/18 - T

2/4/18 - T (w/ .1 of ice accretion)

2/17/18 - 2"

3/2/18 - T (flurries in wind event)

3/6-7/18 - 1.5" (slushy, no sidewalk/street coverage)

3/12/18 - T

Running snow total - 9.9”

PS - I loathe this winter - I cannot stand nickel and dime events as the only way to get snow. This blows. 13 "events" for 9.9 inches. That's crap.

If that is complaining then you need a lot more practice. I hear Ji is giving lessons for a reasonable rate. Maybe you should check into that.  B)

You know, as bad as last two winters have been here, looking at my totals, late 80's/early 90's was super, super ugly. The winter 89/90 broke up some nasty years here. 88/89 7.7, 8/90 13.4, 90/91 2.4 (sorry 007), 91/92 8.1.

I grew up in the 70's in the area. Until the 79 storm that decade was an absolute travesty. 79 was like a wakeup call to me that things could actually be better then the crap I had experienced the last 8-9 years. Why I have to laugh when some get so bent out of shape over a year or two of bad winters. Try living through most of a decade that way.

Hi - updated totals below.

disclaimer: if you have your total listed in your signature only, meaning you haven't posted it here, please post it. ideally i would love not to have to go looking through signatures for snow amounts.

Thanks :)

I kicked down a total in the early Jan storm I believed was fishy. Here are specifics & the total. Not that 0.1" will matter

12/9/17: 2.9" First storm of the year. Areas just to West get death banded and win out.

12/15/17: 0.2"

12/30/17: 0.4"

1/4/18: 0.6" Costal that missed by 150 miles. Total lowered as of 2/25/18 due to suspicion in my measurement due to spotter reports. Lowered from 0.9"

1/17/18: 0.5"

1/30/18: T

2/4/18: T" Snow that quickly turned to freezing rain. Probably as much ice as snow

2/17/18: 1.5" In contention of the best event of the year. 2-3 hours of +SN turned to sleet/rain. March-like paste storm.

3/2/18: T Wind was main story, but some cool bursts of snow accompanied by winds made for a cool scene outside.

3/6/18: 0.3" Nice little event. ~2 hours of off and on SN, but marginal temps

Total: 6.4"

Dec: 3.5" | January: 1.1" | February" 1.5" | March: 0.3" |

Coordinates: 38.95° N | Longitude: 77.25° W
