Listening to The Fan right now doing the weather forecast, which I assume they get from KDKA, and they're telling everybody 6 to 10 inches. Where the hell did that come from? I can't see KDKA calling for that. They're usually ultra conservative. If The Fan screwed that up reading it, way to spread bad info.

Not sure I have seen a storm where the forecasts varied so much late in the game. Even though NWS was conservative Accuweather and TWC had more aggressive totals. Accuweather called for 6-10” and it verified. TWC has us in 6-12”

(moral of the story — it’s not bad info if it happens :-) )

This is a fun site. Tracks models (with a tiny bit of analysis), and aggregates forecasts. Hope they continue next year

Nice drive to work this morning. A backdrop of blue skies and a fresh snowpack is always nice.

Don’t see any torches in the long range, just a slow moderation to normal.

We probably would’ve had a shot at more snow Saturday, if not for the strong blocking

Yeah a case of a little too much of a good thing with that one.

Now kiss the sun goodbye for at least 3 weeks as we enter a period of raw, soggy misery. They don't call this place "hell with the lid off" for nothing.

Only you do in 2018.

Welcome to move to philly or something. Also welcome to take this to Banter.

its been a beautiful few days, especially with the snow cover. Brilliant sunshine today

Yes, it's true. I'm the only person in America with a negative opinion of Pittsburgh and it's weather.

It it is funny, and I’m sure not a coincidence, that all of our troll posters always seem to live in in the ligonier/Latrobe/greensburg vicinity.

Pghrants, psunate, thisguy. I’m sure it is a complete coincidence!

One thing this last week dispelled for me is sun angle destroying a snowpack in a day. Even though it has been 40 everything stayed mostly covered up until yesterday.

Bottom line, unless it is 50 snowpack will stick around.

I don’t know about that. Anything that wasn’t in the shade or on a north facing hill got zapped pretty quickly. It’s the snow that has been protected from the sun that has remained.

Those places are all in the Laurel Valley. I live in Indiana county. I'm much closer to places like Nuked Kensington and Penn Kills than I am to anywhere in the Laurel Valley.
