Moderate to heavy snowfall here in Oakmont. The switch happened about 9:45. Is it just me or does it seem like we were able to make the switch a little earlier than forecasted?

Would agree. Probably about 2 hours early. My point and click was upped to 3-7 by the nws.

We'll probably stay north of the 700mb low pivot point, so getting dryslotted looks unlikely.

Still a good bit of moisture and energy to last through at least dawn, so at some point later on we'll probably get some deform action.

Good insight. Excellent positivity.

Where is the current position of the low at 700? I can never find great analysis sites

I don’t think that 6 inches is out of the question. We should start seeing some really great rates shortly...as long as no more holes open up over AGC.
