FallsLake Posted October 18, 2017 Share Posted October 18, 2017 The cold winners for central NC are Sanford at 31, Roxboro at 32, and Oxford at 33 (they still might drop another degree). Surprisingly, Rocky Mount is only 41. They're normally colder during these situations. My backyard is at 37. I'm not one of those "typically colder locations". Don't think I've seen it rain that hard in 20 or so years,could'nt see 50 feet in front of you for a few minutes..Couple small trees down winds did approach 60 mph. SteveVa Posted October 25, 2017 Share Posted October 25, 2017 You guys had me look out of the window, it's still going on - crazy constant lighting show about 120mi to my SE (Lightningmaps.com say the lightning is due E of Hatteras) I wish I had good camera and equipment, the view is really something here up from the 14th floor. It was nice to watch. Yeah was lighting up the entire sky and I could easily see the crawlers and cloud tops lighting up from over 100 miles away.....basically covered my entire eastern horizon.
