Gfs and icon both give a front end thump of 3-5 inches for us sw of Asheville for the Sunday event

Hoping KAVL can get at least 3 inches Sunday before the change over to rain,,,,,IF THAT OCCURS, it's possible it stays snow in the mtns. I've witnessed this many times where the forecast was for a changeover to rain and it snowed the entire event.

Warm air is going to rush in over the mountains. The best place to stay at or below freezing will be just east of the mountains where the cold air gets trapped due to CAD

Been snowing here all morning but not adding up to a lot. Solid dusting on the ground. Actually coming down decent ATM. NAM keeps this up most of the afternoon.

Same over here...we live on the east side of Elk Knob state park and strong gusts of wind and snow is coming down pretty good ATM

^Moto, are you no longer in Dahlonega?  Have you moved to Beech Mountain?

VAC spot finally completed.  Life long dream.  Will be lots of back and forth.  Got up here yesterday just in time for this and will get through the Sunday/Monday event also.

LOL...I'm just glad the snow tends to work out when expected.  Such a nice change of pace.

Amen brother...lived up here back in my LMC days...now we've moved back up here in Todd at 3612' elevation...still got a few rogue flakes falling...hoping for some fun weather during the Super Bowl...just hope we don't change over to rain

Had maybe a quarter to half an inch. Cold and windy today with temps in the lows 20s.

This one was pretty pathetic. About an inch here max. It's been cold today with a healthy breeze. High of 24.3.

It looks like another boring stretch of weather coming up with the non-event this weekend and a semi-warm next week. Maybe things will turn around in a couple weeks.
