Nice seasonable day.  Managed to get yard cleanup done before any wind.  Low of 35, high or 56.  Trees are mostly bare at this point minus the stingy oaks.

One benefit to that forgettable storm Sunday is that it helped to denude our oaks. Almost stick season here. Did another leaf cleanup. Hopefully only one more will be needed

Do you do any shooting? I had some great times shooting guns after work with coworkers when I lived up there like 10 years ago. Not sure it the laws have changed but VT had literally zero gun laws back then. You could walk into a gun store and buy basically anything including handguns on the spot.

I lol’ed

We have resorted to manual adjustments to the model blend,
limiting slight chance pops to Cape Cod and Islands Thursday
night and again Saturday night. We have maintained the late week
cooldown but have raised temps 3-5 degrees. We will need to
monitor this...and follow the bouncing forecast

I’ve noticed a lot more deer (and foxes, rabbits, etc.) than what I typically see.  Plentiful acorns, etc.

I am really nervous about hitting a deer with my car

A lot of activity in the woods this hunting season, More so this year, Very noticeable, I watched a chipmunk today pick up over 20 acorns and bring them back to his den in a 4 hour period.

Still the same gun laws up here.

Edit: we do follow federal laws so any federally mandated background check or waiting period for handguns is enforced.

I don't do any shooting... and don't know much about gun laws here, haha.  I'm definitely the wrong guy to ask about that.  I do remember reading a Burlington Free Press article a while back though where the author was able to legally purchase an assault rifle in like the parking lot of a Wendy's that he found on Craigslist.  It was pretty shocking how easy and legal that was for him.

It feels and smells like snow outside, haha.

Too bad that band is a bit too far north otherwise I think the column is cold enough here for light snow if we can generate any lift tonight.

High of 43F today off a low of 29F is about the first day that really felt like we were heading towards winter.

Maybe some light snow moving through parts of Maine overnight?

You’re wild.

Such a big difference in lifestyle between NNE folk and SNE. If i have 4 hours to myself I need action, play golf or something....I couldn’t watch Alvin, Simon, and Theodre at work.

Not knocking it, maybe when I retire...I’ll raise chickens and kill deer.

Move the family up to Franklin Co bro, you can have the authentic hill town experience, lots of snow, if you go 800'+ w/ the homestead, and have the cultural, urban sanity of Northampton (possibly left of Berkeley) 20-30 minutes away.

In 30 years, if I’m still alive, we’ll leave CT when retired.

Get out now while you can....................

Ha. The infrastructure sucks and our capital is meh, but they’re trying to improve that. If we get the Whalers back then all is well, jk. But in all seriousness, it’s a nice state even though New Englanders think we are the armpit....but they come to our casinos at least.
