54 the low for Central Park

At least we can have some bragging rights that we broke a record from 1934.

Very rare to see record lows around the area in recent years with the EWR and LGA record lows today.

...RECORD LOW TEMPERATURE TIED AT LAGUARDIA NY...

A RECORD LOW TEMPERATURE OF 56 DEGREES WAS SET AT LAGUARDIA NY
TODAY. THIS TIES THE OLD RECORD OF 56 SET IN 1967.

Newark in the 40s- I'm shocked- though they do radiate better than other urban locales.

I think that reading was an error...if you check their 5 min obs., the was a sudden drop around 3 am, then a rise shortly thereafter...I checked because EWR doesn't often drop 3 degrees lower than me.

Maybe someone can ask the NWS about it. In any event, LGA was good for a record low tie.

EURO spilts the high pressure to its north and creates a 'bowling alley' for itself. It destroys us on day 11.

GFS fails at this and is shunted northwest into PA./OH. by our latitude.

CMC erases Florida, then looks like the GFS.

JMA is a ditto to the CMC---it has an opening but it is late to the train and it closes up.
