Convective Thread

As we head towards the prime of severe weather season it's time to throw up a thread to discuss all setups, events, and what happens during events.  It appears that late evening/overnight will feature the potential for perhaps a few lines of thunderstorms to work through portions of New England.  While the timing is certainly not favorable, steep mid-level lapse rates and increasing 0-6km shear ahead of the approaching s/w will help keep these thunderstorms intact as they push into New England.  The possibility for a severe t'storm can't be ruled out (especially western sections) but loss of daytime heating and increasing CIN will likely preclude much of a severe risk here.  A good light show though may be in store for some folks!

Great setup that loses points to poor timing, in New England. Southwest VT, Northwest MA looks like best chances for severe in our subforum...Probably see cells congeal into an MCS as the sun sets and best instability traverses Albany.

Nice CAPE and BRN parameters out to our west. Looks like supercells in upstate NY with isolated shots at weak twisters...
